The oldest photograph of the Villa dates to 1860. It is believed that the building was originally used as a powder magazine. Its industrial character is indicated by the thick stone walls located in the eastern part of the building which were discovered during a renovation in the 1980s, as well as by a channel carved in the rock from the now-dry millstream which passed under the building.

The beginning of the 20th century
In photographs from the early 20th century, the building already had a gable roof, which has been preserved in its original form to this day. During that period the ground floor was divided into a residential area, a grocery shop and a small restaurant. Meanwhile upstairs rooms were for rent.

Villa Pod Bocianem now
For more than a hundred years, our family has been offering a peaceful getaway to our guests a at Willa Pod Bocianem in the beautiful Ojcow National Park. In 2008, a two-apartment guest house was opened to guests to come and visit while in 2016, the rooms in the Villa underwent a major renovation and private bathrooms were added to each room. Additionally, since 1992 we have been running a family restaurant located next to the Villa, "Restaurant Pod Bocianem".
